Decorative Antiques

Well it’s been pretty manic these past few months, whilst I’m still busy experimenting with the Indian silks, I’ve also been busy supplying new ‘decorative antiques’ business Bowden Knight with lampshades for their launch night, which was a huge success. They were kind enough to produce some fantastic pictures featuring their antiques alongside cushions from Bon Maison and my lampshades sitting ontop of some very nice antique brass lampstands, take a look below…..

Congrats to Ernest Journal on launching their new magazine and ipad edition this month.
“Ernest is a blog, iPad magazine and biannual printed journal for curious and adventurous gentlefolk. It is a guide for those who appreciate true craftsmanship and the care that goes into making, who are fascinated by curious histories and eccentric traditions and who care more for timeless style than trends.” The magazine looks fab and thanks for the feature!

Night Time Nostalgia

Its been great to see BeauVamp featured in the latest Pretty Nostalgic magazine this month amongst an array of fantastic lampshade designers and makers. Hannah Nunn from Radiance Lighting co-ordinated the piece which was set deep in the woods and photographed at twilight. I dread to think how long it took to get all these lampshades hanging amongst the branches but I’m loving the effect its given and you can read all about the shoot and how it was created on Hannah’s blog page here. Massive thanks to Hannah Nunn, Pretty Nostalgic and Sarah Mason for the amazing photography.

Grand Designs

Grand Designs – Best of British

BeauVamp was invited to contribute to a collaboration of British designers work featured in The Gallery Rooms at Grand Designs Live this year (2010), celebrating British design. Kate Baxter, Interior Stylist and writer dressed the space beautifully and posted may more images up on her blog page.
At the heart of GRAND Interiors, The Gallery Rooms provided the ultimate insight into the very latest, up-coming trends for your home. There was a common theme throughout the room sets; that of celebrating the Best of British Design, with some of the most influential designers of now – from the avant-garde to the essence of traditionalism – reflected in three unique looks. Appearing like an art gallery, visitors could peer through framed cut-outs in the wall to see the three room sets inside, making this feature a truly interactive experience. The Gallery Rooms were a place to gather ideas and be inspired by all things British!
The room set showed how British fashion impacts on our homes, relating the colours and trends we see on the catwalk to show how they can translated into home furnishings. The design focused on a 1940s inspired boudoir set with dressing table, textiles area and dressing area. Thanks Kate, pictures below:
